Being in Malta do not miss the opportunity to visit the island of Sicily, which is only 90 km away from Malta. Arriving at Pozallo – a typical Sicilian village we depart for Taormina. This Sicily’s prime tourist resort was colonized by the Greeks in the 4th century B.C. We will visit the present Teatro Greco (optional), a beautiful botanical garden, the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and the main street –the elegant Corso Umberto.

After dinner we go to Syracuse, a city founded by the Corinthians in 734 BC. Today it is a popular tourist destination. The Duomo is a converted Greek temple and nowadays you can see some fragments of the ancient temple in the structure of the church. We also visit the lovely sanctuary of the Madonna delle Lacrime, which was built in memory of the miraculous weeping plaster figurines, attracts a large number of pilgrims from all over the world. On our way back to the port we stop in Pozzallo where you will have time for dinner and enjoy Sicilian specialities, and then we departure by superfast catamaran for Malta.
