To rent a car in Malta you will need a valid driving licence and a credit card (debit cards or electronic cars are not accepted). The driver must be at least 21 years old and not older than 70 years.
The cost of rent includes fully comprehensive insurance for all cars (third party liability only for scooters), unlimited mileage, taxes and fees. Additional payments: rent a child seat, a second driver, GPS navigation. Insurance coverage is subject to an excess of 500 Eur which is blocked on a driver’s credit card. It will be unblocked automatically in 7 working days. This excess might be reduced to 100 Euros at an extra charge of 10 Eur per day (subject to change).
